Rend Lake Intercity Water System

System Information

System Description

Water is pumped from Rend Lake directly to a 19.1 mgd treatment plant. The State of Illinois has access to 109,000 ac-ft of the lake's total storage of 175,059 ac-ft. Rend Lake’s allocation is currently 17.5 mgd and negotiations are being conducted with the State to increase this allocation.
