Illinois Water Supply Planning

Northeastern Illinois

Regional water supply planning in Northeastern Illinois is focusing on the Deep Bed aquifer system and the Fox River watershed. The planning effort includes the following eleven counties (map): Boone; Cook; DeKalb; DuPage; Grundy; Kane; Kankakee; Kendall; Lake; McHenry; and Will. A Regional Water Supply Planning Group has been formed that includes the following stakeholders: Academia & the Public Interest in Regional Planning; Agriculture; Business, Industry & Power; Conservation & Resource Management; County Goverment; Environmental Advocacy; Municipal Government; Real Estate & Development; and Wastewater & Non-municipal Utilities. The planning effort is being facilitated by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.
