Water Supply and Demand in East-Central Illinois: Planning for the Future
-- This meeting was a joint study session, open to the public, that was held at the Beckman Institute in Urbana on September 28, 2006. Laurel Prussing, Mayor of Urbana, and Richard Herman, Chancellor of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign were in attendance. Presentations were made by Derek Winstanley, Chief, Illinois State Water Survey, Allen Wehrmann, Director, Center for Groundwater Science, Illinois State Water Survey, and Ed Mehnert, Geohydrologist, Illinois State Geological Survey.
Water 2006 Conference Presentations
-- The Illinois Water Resources Center and agencies of the planning committee put on the fifth biennial conference for citizens and groups interested in water resource issues in Illinois. Illinois State Water
Survey representatives Derek Winstanley, Chief, and Allen Wehrmann, Director - Center for Groundwater Science, both gave presentations. The conference was held October 3 to 5 at the Holiday Inn, Urbana, Illinois.
Topics included Water supply and planning, Data needs for water planning, Challenges facing Lake Michigan water management, Emerging issues in human health and aquatic ecosystems, and more.
