Radium (Ra) in water from the deep bedrock aquifer system Information on radium (Ra) in water from the deep bedrock aquifer system is what this image presents. In this graphic, a map of northern Illinois is presented with a highlighted area containing many counties. These counties have a combined Ra226 and Ra228 concentration exceeding 5 pCi/L in their deep bedrock systems. This map was modified from Kay (1999) and is a slide from "Water Supply Planning And Management", a presentation given by Derek Winstanley from the Water Survey.

Areas covered include Carpentersville, East Dundee, Patterson, the Sbdv Water Trust, South Elgin 4 & 5, Sugar Grove, and Utl Inc Lake Marian Water Corporation. A bar representing Cl (mg/L) is shown for each area. This graph covers the years 1950 to 2000.
