Evapotranspiration:
The process by which water is returned to the atmosphere by evaporation and transpiration caused by molecular activity at the liquid (water) surface where the liquid turns to vapor. Evaporation occurs at a free water surface interface; transpiration is essentially the same as evaporation except that the surface from which the water molecules escape is not a free-water surface. The surface for transpiration is largely leaves.
