Recent publication from Jim Angel and Stan Changnon

A recent scientific journal article by State Climatologist Jim Angel and Stan Changnon examines the causes, magnitude and impacts of the August 2007 heavy precipitation event in northern Illinois. At least 35 observation sites in that region received over 10 inches of rain, resulting in more than $350 million in losses. The paper appeared in the Fall 2008 issue of the Transactions of the Illinois State Academy of Science. (contact jimangel@illinois.edu)
